An assault attempt against an ADO bus was reported Thursday on the Mérida-Chetumal highway.
Suspects attempted to stop the bus by throwing rocks, but the driver did not yield, police said.
The attack occurred between the towns of Emiliano Zapata and Filipe Carrillo Puerto. The passengers had boarded the bus in Merida and were headed to Chetumal, a trip that takes nearly five hours.
Línea de Fuego Quintana Roo reported that the driver did not stop until meeting with police on a stretch of road somewhere between La Pantera and Divorciados.
No one was injured, but some windows were damaged, according to Línea de Fuego.
