Storms are forecast from very strong to intense in Puebla, Veracruz, Oaxaca, Chiapas, Tabasco, Campeche, Yucatan and Quintana Roo this morning, as well as snow or sleet in mountain areas of Chihuahua, Coahuila and New Lion.
Through a communiqué, it was reported that in the south of the Gulf of Mexico, a northern event is expected with gusts exceeding 70 kilometers per hour (km / h). In the Isthmus and the Gulf of Tehuantepec, gusts greater than 50 km / h in the rest of the coast, including the Yucatan Peninsula, as well as possible waterspouts off the coast.
The aforementioned meteorological conditions will be originated by Cold Front Number 44, which will extend in the east and southeast of Mexico, the associated cold air mass and a cold core vortex located in the north of the country.
Intense storms are expected in Chiapas and Tabasco; very strong storms in Veracruz, Oaxaca and Campeche; strong storms in Coahuila, Nuevo León and Tamaulipas; showers with intervals of showers in Sonora, Chihuahua, Durango, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosi, Hidalgo, Puebla, State of Mexico, Guerrero, Yucatan and Quintana Roo, and isolated rains in Aguascalientes, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Tlaxcala, Mexico City and Morelos.
It is forecast in the Mesa del Norte cold environment during the morning, the east and the center of the country, with temperatures lower than -5 degrees Celsius in the sierras of Baja California, Sonora, Durango and Chihuahua; from -5 to 0 degrees Celsius in the mountains of Coahuila, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas, as well as from 0 to 5 degrees Celsius in the cordilleras of Nuevo León, Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, Querétaro, Hidalgo, State of Mexico, Puebla, Tlaxcala and Veracruz.
In contrast, temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius are forecast in areas of Nayarit, Jalisco, Michoacán, Guerrero, and 35 to 40 degrees Celsius in points of Sinaloa, Colima, Morelos, Oaxaca, Campeche and Yucatan.
North event with gusts of more than 60 km / h and high waves of 2 to 3 meters, are expected on the coasts of Tamaulipas, Veracruz, the Isthmus and the Gulf of Tehuantepec, wind gusts exceeding 40 km / h in Coahuila, Nuevo León, San Luis Potosí, Zacatecas, Durango and the coasts of Tabasco, Campeche and Yucatan, as well as possible snow or sleet mountains of northern Chihuahua.
The Cold Front Number 44 will originate the aforementioned conditions, which will be extended with stationary characteristics in the east and southeast of the Mexican Republic, the associated cold air mass and the cold core vortex in the north of the territory.
