Merida, Yucatan — The cost of fuels again decrease in recent days, according to reports from the service stations and consumers themselves, which has been registered by the Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE).
The prices recorded so far, indicate that regular Magna gasoline is as low as 19.17 pesos per liter, after selling for close to 21 at the beginning of the month. Premium, recently near 22 pesos per liter, is as low as 20.45 today. Diesel is relatively unchanged.
According to the monthly report of the CRE, indicates that in February, regular gasoline closed with a price of 19.66, the premium with 20.37 and diesel, 21.62, although throughout that month, the average cost of fuel was 19.31, 19.89 and 21.35, respectively.
Also, between January and February of this year, fuels have had variations in their prices, mainly diesel.
The president of the National Chamber of Commerce (Canaco) of Merida, Michel Salum Francis, has pointed out that it is important that diesel prices remain stable because its prices are carried over into consumer costs.
“If we want to see that in the economy prices can adjust a bit, the first thing that has to go down is diesel,” he said.
