A San José Tecoh man drowned in Chuburná after apparently swimming in a restricted area.
Gaspar Antonio Nah Euán, 28, and his 17-year-old sister, were dragged by strong currents at Puerto de Abrigo. Signs reading “do not enter this area” and “do not swim in this area” had been posted in the area.
Men on a fishing boat attempted to rescue both swimmers, but only the girl survived. The fisherman found Nah’s body floating in the water, and brought it to shore.
This is the second drowning in the dangerous area this year, authorities said.
